Michelle Creegan-Dougherty will be instructing a one-week beginner's and intermediate riding clinic, in the Muskwa-Kechika. All riders welcome! Email wsawchuk@pris.ca for info. To see the Mayfield Basecamp, go tohttp://go2mk.ca/mayfieldcamp.

This camp will combine basic horsemanship skills with an education in regards to the natural environment in the Northern Rockies. The riders can expect to learn how to guide their mounts through the pristine wilderness surrounding Mayfield Lake Base Camp, learning to recognize tracks, berries and species of plant native to the area. In addition to riding, clients can expect canoe adventures, hiking opportunity, art projects, tipi fires, informational talks about the area, plant collecting and other fun camp activities!

A little bit about who I am... This is my fifth year working for Wayne Sawchuk and Jerry Pavia, and in my time in the MK I have deepened my connection with the Earth and have realized the need for people to be presented the opportunity to experience such untouched wilderness. I have ridden horses since I was a young child, and specialized in horsemanship skills, show jumping, and western pleasure. I have worked for several different barns in southern Alberta, from jumping barns to starting young horses to ride. The intention of this week would be to enable you to learn to feel confident riding through the mountains, and connect with your surroundings in a positive way!
