Join us on Saturday, May 10th to Rally against the destructive pipelines and tankers that threaten to devastate BC's coast with spills, and further accelerate climate change. We stand with those across the country who don’t want to turn Canada into a petrostate that exports climate disaster.
Without asking, our governments are changing laws to allow pipelines in parks and to deny public participation in the Kinder Morgan pipeline review process. This headlong rush to tar sands pipelines is eroding our democracy and putting BC families at risk. Enough is enough. The time is now to push back and stand strong for the right of BC communities to have a say in our future!
Join us to rally and march against Kinder Morgan's proposed TransMountain tar sands pipeline to Burnaby, and to stop for once and for all the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline to Kitimat.
The Federal Cabinet is expected to make a decision in June on Northern Gateway, so now is the time to make our voices heard, and a march is one of many ways to do this.
Together we can promote a positive vision for BC and Canada. We need to push towards renewable energy and a low-carbon economy that will sustain jobs and families long into the future. We need a society that respects indigenous rights, believes in jobs with fair wages, and protects a beautiful coast that continues to draw tourists and sustains communities.
After the rally, we're inviting everyone to come inside James Bay Community School Centre and join the discussion, to build connections in our community, learn more about these issues, and plan next steps.
